SATELLITE INTERNET TECHNOLOGY

Our flagship program "Satellite Opportunities for Academic Reach (SOAR)" brings satellite technology to strengthen rural community academic platforms, bolstering faithful education, internet support, and job opportunities. Our satellite network serves remote home schooler, schools, clinics, churches, and tribal peoples bridging the digital gap in the most unreached and secluded regions of Virginia. We collaborate with local churches, community leaders, NGOs, and government partners, delivering technology, training, mentoring, and networking to teachers, private leaders and residents grappling with extreme digital divides in rural, remote, and often overlooked areas.

THE BEGINNING

It starts with an initial investment in satellite hardware and educational technology, followed by tutoring to introduce participants to a modern 21st-century platform. Ultimately, underserved communities gain access to internet-based educational platforms and business networks, all made available in their homes and communities.

PHASE I

Cutting-edge technologies like Starlink and competing services such as ViaSat present innovative solutions to alleviate poverty in Virginia remote counties and nearby regions. America's remote communities grapple with poor and expensive internet access, particularly in their rural regions, often disconnected from neighboring areas. In Northern Virginia, rural areas face slower speeds and less reliable connections compared to urban areas like Arlington and Fairfax. While broadband coverage is generally better than in West Virginia, rural parts still lag behind in high-speed internet and affordable broadband options.
Southern Virginia has some of the worst internet access in the U.S., some regions have few broadband serviceable locations. Page County is particularly affected, with significant portions of the population lacking basic internet services. Low-income levels and mountainous terrain further exacerbate these issues.
